Strategies of communication in Slow Movement as an answer to the challenges of intercultural education of the 21st century

Abstract:

In this article, I present theoretical assumptions, as well as practical solutions of education based on slow movement. Firstly, I am talking about the source and critical analysis of technologization and instrumentalization of the education process which aim to increase the effectiveness of teaching by increasing the amount of its contents. In turn, the slow education, using qualitative techniques and methods of work resulting from the slowdown in a broad sense, is trying to create an educational reality most fully realizing the potential of teachers and students. In addition to theoretical assumptions, I present practical strategies of work, which result directly from the activities; pedagogy of presence, mindfulness in education, pedagogy of encounter and dialogue, pedagogy of silence and positive discipline techniques. The whole model is a part of a strategy of actions whose primary purpose is to achieve conciliatory, dialogical and empathic skills which are necessary in the space of intercultural education of the 21st century.
