Lower Silesia’s potential in achieving climate neutrality by 2050

Subject and Keywords:

integrated energy system   European Green Deal   climate neutrality

Abstract:

In times of climate crisis, concerted and comprehensive actions aimed at preventing this phenomenon are indispensable. One of the postulates of the European Green Deal is to counteract global warming by introducing the so-called climate neutrality by 2050, i.e. zero carbon emissions. The planned integration of the energy system, at EU, national and regional level, aims to ensure that all EU policies contribute to this, and that all sectors play a role in the process. Although the integration of the energy system is in the initial phase of implementation, Lower Silesia currently has the potential to achieve climate neutrality. These are effective and safe activities for the environment, and at the same time focused on the important goals of a cleaner planet and a stronger economy.
