The paper deals with the problems of pedagogy of place. It presents the results of research on the collective memory of the flooding in 1997 in three villages of Lower Silesia region: Łany, Kamieniec Wrocławski and Jeszkowice. Based on the qualitative methodology, with elements of ethnography is a follow up of the previous research project: „Urban narratives” performed in 2016 in seven small towns. Reconstructing the myth narrative authors refer the story of the places and things that constitute the utopia and by that the collective identity of the citizens.
