Abstract:

Modern on-line databases of stolen or illegally exported cultural goods are becoming an increasingly effective tool in the hands of the Police and the Border Guard. Owing to their availability and possibility of being rapidly updated, such databases not only may become an effective instrument of combating crime against cultural goods and works of art, but also increasingly strengthen the security of the collector market by eliminating objects bearing a legal fault stolen of forged.
