Abstract:

This work describes the institution of justices of the peace in the United States of America over the years, from their origins in medieval England, through its development, then expanding to the United States and the existing of the today’s. Shows her transformation over the years and describes its operation in modern states, including the positive and negative features. It also contains a reference to the Polish legal system in this respect.
