Abstract:

The authors of monograph develop the issue of instruments of direct democracy in Switzerland. The text focuses especially on two institutions of direct democracy: popular initiative and referendum containing examples of the use of each of them. The authors – citing a well-known literature – want to draw attention to the advantages and disadvantages of the in-text legal solutions. They included interesting use cases of these instruments focusing their special attention to those that have taken place in recent years. They make use of what already has been written to create a composition of the most important informations on this subject.
