Abstract:

The aim of this article is to find an answer to the question whether the existing legal regulations contain adequate mechanisms enabling the implementation of the interests of local communities in the cross-border dimension? The background for the considerations is the analysis of spatial planning procedures and environmental impact assessment procedures in connection with the planned extension of the opencast mining area of the Turów lignite mine.
