Abstract:

European Economic Interest Grouping EEIG is a type of a cross-border company under the European Union law, regulated by the Council Regulation No. 2137/85 of 25 July 1985 on the European Economic Interest Grouping. In matters not regulated by this regulation the national rules shall apply. Therefore, on the basis of the Polish regulations there appeared different practice concerning the formation of the name of the EEIG. There are disputes whether the EEIG acts under a business name. Moreover, it becomes problematic whether the principles of general partnerships’ name apply to forming of the EEIG name.
