  The appropriate selection of the content of history education largely determines the pedagogical success. Students of the teaching specialty acquire skills in this areaduring the entire period of university training, and deepen them during practical classes.The purpose of a survey performed among students at eight Polish universities trainingfuture history teachers was to find out how they perceive the problem of historical contentselection and evaluation. The results showed quite a wide variation in the answers obtained from the respondents, depending on the stage of training (bachelor’s or master’s),as well as by gender. The effects of specialization training are also evident.
