It is surprising because our discipline is most popularized in fiction on many levels. Sometimes these images are created by writers educated in anthropology (Abelove, Arnold, Crichton, Durant, Elkins, Gardner, La Farge, Oliver, Vonnegut). I would like to emphasise that many writers \u2013 anthropologists or not - create specific images of anthropology and describe certain anthropological ideas and problems (not only cultural relativism or cultural differentiation but also freedom, power, moral values etc.).
