These issues are part of so-called cognitive archaeology. At this angle were analysed sequences of archaeological cultures in subsequent chronological periods in Central Europe. There were considered the Hallstatt period, the La Tene period, the Roman influence period and the Migration period. Metrological analysis of buildings\u2019 remains has been made and showed the use of repetitive units of measure. It allowed for a relatively accurate determination of the ways in which the buildings were laid out. Similar rules of spatial organization have also been used in the construction of ornaments on pottery and objects of everyday use. The applied research procedure allowed to recognize architecture and style changes in subsequent chronological periods. While the analyses concerning the ideology allowed to understand the intellectual grounds of these changes. In territorial terms this work will focus broadly on areas of Central Europe - between the Rhine and the Vistula Rivers as well as the Baltic Sea and the Danube. However, as the author is most familiar with the territory of Poland and especially that of Lower Silesia, the archaeological sites from this region will be most frequently analysed."],"pl":["Książka \u201eArchitekture, style and structure in the Early Iron Age in Central Europe \u201d dotyczy tematów rzadko poruszanych w literaturze archeologicznej. Analiza budownictwa jest powszechnie stosowanym zabiegiem, bardzo rzadko jednak dokonuje się także analizy metrologicznej. Przeprowadzono ją wyszukując powtarzalne odległości czytelne poprzez układy jam posłupowych lub innych obiektów archeologicznych. Uzyskane wyniki nie stanowią więc efektu obliczeń arytmetycznych, tylko z analiz o charakterze geometrycznym. Analiza metrologiczna pozwoliła stosunkowo dokładnie ustalić sposoby rozplanowania budynków - dzięki temu można było rozpoznać ich strukturę. Pozwoliło to postawić pytania dlaczego przestrzeń budynków i osad organizowano właśnie tak a nie inaczej. Dotyczy to zarówno przestrzeni fizycznej, ale również rytualnej i społecznej. Celem pracy było więc badanie sposobów myślenia o otaczającym świecie - a dokładniej tego jak, i dlaczego właśnie tak, był on użytkowany. Aby uzyskać odpowiedzi na tak postawione pytania porównano budownictwo do innych wytworów kultury materialnej. Dokonano dokładnej analizy stylistycznej i podjęto próbę określenia paradygmatów poszczególnych stylów artystycznych. Wszystkie te zjawiska analizowano na tle przemian ówczesnej struktury społecznej. Zagadnienia te stanowią więc część tzw. archeologii kognitywnej. Pod względem terytorialnym praca dotyczy szeroko pojętych obszarów Europy Środkowej - pomiędzy Renem i Wisłą oraz Bałtykiem i Dunajem.
