Such statement shall be interpreted as a derivative of the principle of popular sovereignty which is the basis of every democratic system, but in various legal system is realized with different intensity. The aim of the aforesaid article is to answer the question about possible scope of direct democracy\u2019 mechanisms \u2013 particularly if such mechanisms can become a ground for the popular review of judicial decision of constitutional court. The research hypothesis of the article is the notion that introduced into the legal system of Colorado \u2013 appellation of sentence institution stands contrary to the standards of democratic State, in its European shape. Simultaneously, the author intends to indicate the advantages of the strong positions of the citizens in the process of self \u2013 governance.
