• Abstract:
  
  
  The purpose of the article is to present the genealogy and basic concepts of progressive theology, also referred to as progressive Christianity, and the activity of ProgressiveChristianity.org. In the first part, the article presents the sources and premises of progressive theology as inclusive theology, the history of the main organization representing this theological movement (ProgressiveChristianity.org) and characteristic themes developed by three progressive theologians (John Cobb, John Shelby Spong, and Marcus Borg). The second part concentrates on the theological manifesto known as The 8 Points of Progressive Christianity, and on how theoretical foundations are applied in practice.

  Celem niniejszego artykułu jest przedstawienie genealogii i podstawowych koncepcji teologii postępowej, zwanej również postępowym chrześcijaństwem, oraz działalności ProgressiveChristianity.org, które do 2010 roku działało pod nazwą Center for Progressive Christianity. W pierwszej części artykułu przedstawiam źródła i założenia teologii postępowej jako teologii inkluzywnej, historię głównej organizacji reprezentującej ten nurt (ProgressiveChristianity.org) oraz cechy charakterystyczne myśli trzech jej reprezentantów (Johna Cobba, Johna Shelby’ego Sponga oraz Marcusa Borga). W drugiej części skupiam się na teologicznym manifeście "8 Punktów Postępowego Chrześcijaństwa" ( 8 Points of Progressive Christianity) oraz na tym, jak teoretyczne założenia przekładają się na praktyczne rozwiązania i działania.
