  This article presents research conducted by the author, which aimed to determine whether and how symbols influence perceptions of men and women. For this purpose, three versions of a questionnaire were designed. Each version contained one question: “What is the person in the picture like?” The question was repeated twice; the first version contained a photo of a woman and the second of a man. The versions of the questionnaire differed by changing the symbols, which were applied by computer to the clothes of the people in the photos. The first version shows photos without any signs or symbols to suggest in which categories respondents would use to describe a woman and which categories they would use to describe a man. The second version depicted exactly the same people, but wearing T-shirts with the Polska Walcząca symbol. The last version depicted models wearing T-shirts with a symbol specially designed for this survey to resemble luxury brands. The results of the survey were presented in tabular form, and each table was accompanied by an analysis.
