Abstract:

The article is an analysis of the democratic transformation in Argentina, using Guillermo O’Donnell’s theory of transformation. O’Donnell, an Argentine political scientist, divided a process of transformation into two phases: a transition (transformation in a narrow sense) and a consolidation of democracy. The text presents the basic assumptions of O’Donnell’s theory, as well as the stages of Argentine democratic transformation.  

Artykuł stanowi analizę procesu przemian demokratycznych w Argentynie z perspektywy teorii transformacji Guillerma O’Donnella. Argentyński politolog dzielił proces demokratyzacji na dwa etapy: przejścia (transformacji w wąskim znaczeniu), oraz konsolidacji demokracji. W tekście przedstawione zostały zarówno podstawowe założenia koncepcji O’Donnella, jak i poszczególne etapy transformacji, do jakiej doszło w Argentynie.
