Abstract:

Generally speaking, the concept of disability includes various functional constraints of individuals of every society, resulting from damage to the ability to perform any of the activites considered as normal, typical for human existence. These restrictions can be permanent or temporary, total or partial, concerning sensorial, physical and mental spheres. These dysfuctions may result in the emergence of difficult, problematic situations, which may lead to a lack of correlation between a human’s abilities and the requirements of the environment. Can we assert that the effots of The Library of Poznan University of Technology, done in the in the interests of the users, are indeed helping them, and that they can be classified as bibliotherapeutical activities?
