Title:

Reflexive student towards bullying

Subject and Keywords:

bullying   bystanders   peer violence   reflective practice

Abstract:

The aim of this article is to draw attention to the social side of bullying and justification, in this context, the usefulness of reflexivity issues from the point of view of preventive and educational interactions. In addition to the victims and aggressors, bullying involves bystanders. Their behavior is not without significance for the entire process of abuse. They can strengthen the perpetrator or take the side of the victim, which helps contain and reduce further violence. Therefore, they provide great potential to counter the phenomenon of bullying. Particularly important is to increase their awareness of their role in this phenomenon and mobilize actively to do something against the violence. For this purpose, the reflective practice may be used. For that reason, in this text I will concentrate on practical reflections on raising students’ awareness of the essence of bullying and their role in this phenomenon. I will refer to the concept of the Graham Gibbs reflective cycle, because it seems to be particularly useful in this case.
