Abstract:

Today in the era of perceiving ambiguity in all possible areas of life, redefining of the school is being in the process, and the role of a teacher either. Both in the world of science, and the environment more closely associated with the practice of teaching, the teacher receives a different titles. There is an attempt to give to the teacher’s role new meanings, different than previous functions, sometimes even tasks that were previously directly synonymous with the concept of the teacher, are removed from his shoulders. And so, somewhere, under the strange but modern-sounding phrases: tutor, mentor, coach, the main but nowadays archaic-sounding determination – upbringing, is slowly vanishing.Recent studies show that teachers nowadays are reluctant to talk about this duties. Why? Perhaps that is an area that needs special reflection, it is not easy to define, requires action preceded by thinking.  

Nauczanie niejedno ma imię, chociażby z uwagi na tak liczne jego formy. Procesy globalizacji i związane z nimi przemiany wartości we współczesnym świecie powodują redefinicję funkcji szkoły, a co za tym idzie – roli nauczyciela. Próbuje się w ten sposób nadać jego roli nowe znaczenia, przypisać jej inne niż dotychczasowe funkcje, czasem nawet usuwając z barków pedagogów zadania, które wcześniej były wprost tożsame z pojęciem nauczyciela. Czy pod ciężarem obco, lecz nowocześnie, brzmiących określeń: tutor, mentor, coach, nie ginie dziś archaicznie brzmiące określenie – wychowawca? Wyniki najnowszych badań pokazują, iż obecnie nauczyciele sami często niechętnie mówią o swoich powinnościach wychowawczych. Dlaczego? Wychowanie jest dziedziną, która potrzebuje szczególnego namysłu, nie jest łatwa do zdefiniowania, wymaga działania poprzedzonego refleksją.
