Abstract:

Both concepts – vision and utopia – can be classified as so-called cognitive distortions. Both concepts refer to the states of the anticipated, and in the area of social change considerations they create images of a better reality than the existing reality. Both ways of thinking are triggered when society as a whole feels at the level of values and norms the need for change. Intentions of change for the better, even if they created under new conditions, they are implemented otherwise on the way of a vision, otherwise on the way of a thinking utopian. Basically, every vision takes into account the present state – the image of „corrected” society includes the situations and mechanisms observed in other societies that can be patterns or help in transforming reality. Visions generally have a basis in ideologies. In contrast to the vision, in utopian thinking the expected state of society is independent of current conditions. The difference is significant between the ethical systems, with the hierarchy of their values, and the state in which they are created. The vision is close to the concept of modernization, while utopia emphasize contrast.  

Oba pojęcia – wizji i utopii – można zaklasyfikować do tak zwanych zniekształceń poznawczych. Oba odnoszą się do stanów antycypowanych, a w obszarze rozważań nad świadomymi zmianami społecznymi wyobrażają rzeczywistość lepszą od zastanej. Obie drogi myślenia uruchamiają się, gdy społeczeństwo jako całość odczuwa na poziomie wartości i norm potrzebę zmian. Intencje zmian na lepsze, nawet tworzone w nowych warunkach, inaczej realizowane są przy udziale wizji, inaczej w myśleniu utopijnym. Zasadniczo każda wizja bierze pod uwagę stan zastany; wyobrażenie „poprawionego” stanu zawiera w sobie rozpoznawane w innych społeczeństwach sytuacje i mechanizmy, które mogą być wzorcami lub pomocą w przekształcaniu tego, co jest. Wizje mają z reguły podstawy w ideologiach. Utopia, w przeciwieństwie do wizji, stan oczekiwany widzi niezależnie od aktualnych uwarunkowań. Różnica między systemami etycznymi i hierarchią ujętych w nich wartości a stanem, w jakim są one tworzone, jest znacząca. O ile wizji bliższe jest pojęcie modernizacji, o tyle utopia akcentuje kontrast.
