Abstract:

The article shows the process of the formation of the image of Poland and Polish people in the eyes of the Arab community living in Poland. The author undertook the study of the changes in perception of the Polish society by Arab minority over twenty years. He conducted his research on a group of 610 students who lived in Poland and studied in 1994; then, after 21 years, he repeated the survey on a sample of 132 people, who continued living in Poland, and who he was able to find. He continued his studies and a year later, in 2016, he surveyed a group of 38 people. In particular, the work concerns the analysis of the negative and positive traits of the Polish people perceived by the representatives of the Arab minority in Poland, and also deals with the analysis of the stereotype of the Pole, created by that community. In particular, such problems have been studied as: the image of Polish families seen by the Arabs; the impact of the stay in Poland on the perception of the different characterological features of Polish men and women; the position of a husband and wife in a Polish family.
