Nie dziwi nas nieustanne podejmowanie refleksji nad problematyką utopijną w obliczu mniej lub bardziej udanych prób zmierzających do urzeczywistniania utopijnych idei. Niemniej jednak przez wielu badaczy ten typ myślenia traktowany jest jako drugorzędny, nacechowany intelektualną naiwnością, a tym samym nieistotny dla praktyki społecznej i rozwoju samej nauki, w najlepszym zaś wypadku z jej perspektywy nieinteresujący, a nawet niepotrzebny. Chcąc nie zgodzić się z taki podejściem, przedstawiamy trzeci już tom rozważań i refleksji nad zagadnieniami utopii, który wraz z dwoma poprzednimi pozwala nam odnaleźć to, co w utopizmie wciąż aktualne i inspirujące, co stanowi wyzwanie dla myślenia i działania, pedagogiki i edukacji, badań naukowych i praktyki społecznej. Jako całość, kolejne tomy zwracają uwagę na takie aspekty utopii, jak: niejednoznaczność, transformacja, spełnienie, nadanie kierunku, totalność, w kontekście których rozwijamy i kontynuujemy nasze dyskusje o zmianie, oczekiwaniach, nadziejach, dążeniach, obawach i zagrożeniach.

Abstract:

„Every discussion of democracy”, says Giovanni Sartori, „revolves around three concepts: sovereignty of the people, equality and self-government”. In these discussions, the credible linkage of this ideas and their full development, that is to say, adequate to the needs, complexity of functioning and size of a modern nation-state, it creates the image, and at the same time, the political promise of a sufficiently perfect society, that will be possible in the future through effective education. This article aims to develop an understanding of the relationship between selected democratic theories, the concept of utopia and education.
