Abstract:

The institution of marriage annulment is governed by both the provisions of current law and in the laws of the Church. The article discusses the concept of marriage as well as the conditions and the basic procedure to obtain a judgement of nullity of marriage in both these jurisdictions, pointing to the principle of separate jurisdiction of the courts of general jurisdiction and laity.
