The act on the elderly people – a new or the simply next chapter of senior policy?

Abstract:

Among all noticeable demographic changes, ageing of population is one of the most engrossing issues. An increase in the number of elderly people in the total population is the mostsignificant challenge, because it leads to multifaceted results. With respect to this process, many endeavours (including legislative initiatives) need to be taken, especially to protect elderly people’s dignity and above all meet their needs. However, all activities should be based on comprehensive and up-to-date information. The considerations presented in this paper are an attempt to present the act that entered into force on 1 January 2016. This Act of 11 September 2015 on the elderly people introduces the obligation to monitor elderly people’s situation
