Maps Georeferential Register-Catalog Application (MGRCA) was devised by the University Library employees to facilitate the work of Maps Department. It not only performs the function of an electronic inventory, but also of the Department's main catalog. Its implementation has rearranged the work of map librarians and increased the access to the searched materials through reducing the time necessary for collecting information about them. The article presents a brief description of the application's functionality and sums up the 7-year experience of using it by librarians in realizing their current tasks connected with the collections' accessibility and processing.
