Subject and Keywords:
The paper constitutes an attempt to interpret family photography as vital pedagogicalinformation. Photographies, with their subject: ‘The family’, were taken by the studentsof the Institute of Pedagogy of the University of Wroclaw. Analysis of the photographsgives a detailed information about the people being photographed, providesknowledge about the prevailing thematic motives, the contextual circumstances, theemotions accompanying the process of taking them and it approximates their social aspect:their social class, sex, and age. It allows the observers to interpret the biographical experiences of the photographers. An endeavour to interpret the photographs presentedby students shows an interesting way to understand the concept of the family and a varietyof aspects of its functioning.
