The purpose of this article is to characterize the tacit settlement of an administrative case as a conventional act in law. This article is written from the perspective of a general theory of law, therefore the aim indicated above is in some sense instrumental. Ultimately, the aim is to show, on the example of certain problems discussed in dogmatics, how theoretical concepts may contribute to their solution. The theoretical and methodological basis for the considerations carried out in the article is the concept of conventional acts in law developed in the general theory of law. According to the approach proposed in this article, tacit settlement of an administrative case is a conventional act in (administrative) law, and the material substrate of this action is omission. Such a solution finds its justification both in the theoretical concept of conventional acts in law and, what is more important, in the current way in which the discussed issue is regulated.
