Abstract:

As the inspiring author of the Order of the Smile, Janusz Korczak, wrote, “there are no children – there are people, but with a different scale of concepts, a different amount of experience, different drives, and a different game of feeling. Remember we don’t know them”. Preventing and counteracting the violation of children’s rights is one of the challenges faced by modern educators. This phenomenon does not lose its relevance. On the contrary – it intensifies, constantly revealing new aspects of it. This is indicated by the results of research, including works by Bruno Hołyst (1991, 2000, 2011), Bronisław Urban (2000), Janusz Surzykiewicz (2000, 2004), Grażyna Miłkowska-Olejniczak (1999), and Marek Michalak (2020), confirming the need to educate the society in the field of children’s rights awareness
