Abstract:

The article reflects on the possibility of and need for regulating artificial intelligence. First, the author presents the genesis of artificial intelligence regulations, indicating their rootedness in science-fiction literature. She also presents types of artificial intelligence in the context of possible threats. In the next part, she analyzes the existing activities within the European Union, which define the directions to unify the European market, creating a legal framework that defines the ethical principles and legal obligations that should be observed during developing, implementing, and using artificial intelligence, robotics, and related technologies. The above activities have been compared with the current state of legal regulations in China and the USA. On this basis, the author indicates the desired legal actions in the field of artificial intelligence.
