Abstract:

Political system of Bosnia and Herzegovina, established by the Dayton Agreement, was created to prevent the internal ethnic conflicts, to ensure the territorial integrity of the state and the appropriate participation in state’s authorities of the most numerous nations in the country - Bosniacs, Serbs and Croats. In addition to establishing a federal state, the legal solutions adopted in Bosnia and Herzegovina have shaped an interesting and at the same time quite complicated constitutional order, which, despite some shortcomings, is an interesting example of a system that requires the presence of representatives of various nationalities in the state institutions and maintaining balance between these ethnic groups.
