Abstract:

Based on increasing popularity of social networking services, the author of the present article points out the revealing need of regulating the situation of digital content after the death of its owner. In her paper, while defining digital content, the author points to a possibility of inheriting content connected with an account on Facebook, and also discusses the matter of the law applicable to issues between the users and the service provider. The author’s objective is mainly analysis of solutions proposed by Facebook in case of death of a user, in the context of Polish regulations of succession law.
