Abstract:

Impairment of a sensory channel of sight is a great challenge for a person and it can jeopardize quality of life. Visual impairments affect functioning of a whole human organism along with social functioning. If there is no appropriate and individualized rehabilitation a person can face deterioration of health. Physical activity is an effective and necessary means of regaining self-sufficiency and integration. Different antidiscrimination Polish pieces of legislation ensure participation of persons with visual disabilities in physical activities. Non-governmental organizations play an important role in realizing rights of blind and low-vision people to participate in physical activities.
