Abstract:

The publication is dedicated to the history of European constitutionalism. The subject of the explorations undertaken by the author were the first two French constitutions, which were to function in two different forms of political system: monarchy and republic. Both basic laws were created in the last decade of eighteenth-century France in revolutionary realities. Using the comparative method and exegesis of the legal text, the author attempted to confront both political systems through the prism of provisions creating monocameral structures of parliament.
