Abstract:

Terrorism belongs to the most serious problems faced by the EU countries. The significance and character of this threat render any individual efforts to prevent and fight it insufficient. Hence, the matter requires wide and comprehensive international cooperation. Within the EU Poland is currently involved in several important initiatives connected with antiterrorism and counterterrorism. They include two main groups of subjects: cooperation in the physical fight against terrorist acts and cooperation aiming at gathering and exchange of crime information. Participation in such projects improves both Polish and European security.
