Abstract:

The author of the article conducts an analysis of the media reports about the life and situation of Christians in the official – secular Republic of Indonesia. The most numerous Muslim country in the world. Indonesians have the religion inscribed in the ID card, at the same time it is one of the few countries in the world in which it is illegal to be an atheist. The article deals with the issue of the approach and validity of democratic principles. In addition to the analysis of the content of legal acts and media reports, a survey was conducted in the form of an interview with UNSOED students in Indonesia. The article deals with the rights to freedom of speech and religion
