Abstract:

The purpose of this science paper is to show rehabilitation role of penalties and rewards in prisons. What is more, this paper accurately describes efficiency of those instruments and defines rewards system and applicable penalties according to the Polish Criminal Punishment Code. In addition it will show if controlling the misbehavior of prisoners is a significant challenge in polish penal system. In fact, good behavior in prison does not always reflect how the person will act once they are released and rewards do not always give inmates an incentive to behave well.
