Abstract:

The article presents the role of Her Majesty’s Official Opposition in the British two-party system. The Official Opposition is the political party with the second-largest number of seats in the House of Commons. Author focused on the opposition’s specific rights in the British parliament, which are guaranteed by the unwritten constitution and which enable to criticize policy of the government.
