The freedom of assembly is considered one of the basic civil liberties. Its essence is the right for people to come together to manifest and pursue their shared ideas. The right to peaceably assemble is regarded as one of the distinguishing features of a state based on the rule of law. The author therefore presents an analysis of the changes that have occurred in the legal regulation of the freedom of assembly in Poland and draws attention to the regression that has happened in the year 2016.
