Wydział Prawa, Administracji i Ekonomii Uniwersytetu Wrocławskiego N2 - The aim of the following monograph is a presentation of the structure and activities of five Commissions, which operated in the Second Polish Republic and was task to improve public administration by preparing programs for the unification and improvement of the public administration of the independent Poland. The study covers the time period from regaining independence in November 1918 to the conclusion of the work of the last Commission by the end of 1933. The book is comprised of the introduction, five chapters that deals with the subject both from chronological and substantial point of view, the conclusion and annexes. The study proves that the work of all the Commissions, often under the formal leadership of the prime ministers, was actually accomplished through the involvement of professional members - both the holders of highest offices and academics. This is why the suggestions of Commissions are based on the modern recommendations of the science of administration and science of organisation and management.
