Beck N2 - Despite the fact that the number of people using the Internet, its inclusive nature, as well as the rapidly developing electronic communication techniques, the legislator not only distinguished a specific category of electronic contracts, but also introduced appropriate protection mechanisms addressed to the weaker party to contracts, i.e. the consumer. The imposition of numerous information obligations on the entrepreneur and thus emphasizing transparency of the activities performed, both at the pre-contractual stage and in the content of the contract itself, as well as the introduction of regulations on prohibited contractual clauses, resulted in the fact that the consumer has been equipped with tools enabling sufficient market recognition, and also entities appearing on it, which positively affects not only the relations between the parties to the contract and broadly understood good market practices, but also making informed decisions by the consumer when purchasing the goods and services offered. The purpose of the present study is an introduction of the current legal solutions regarding protection of a consumer, who concludes electronic contracts.
