Prawnicza i Ekonomiczna Biblioteka Cyfrowa. Wydział Prawa, Administracji i Ekonomii Uniwersytetu Wrocławskiego N2 - The e-health services appear to be a promising market. On the one hand, we deal with a continually expanding offer of e-health services; on the other hand, more and more consumers, including the elderly, use such services. The article presents the findings of the author’s empirical study conducted in December 2019 using the CAWI method on a group of 363 respondents aged 60+. The hypothesis assuming that older people in Poland are more and more efficient when using e-health services due to their increasing IT competences was positively verified in the study. Searching for health-related information turned out to be the most popular online service. The respondents browsed the Internet primarily to find data on diseases and their treatment, which is probably related to the age of the respondents, or information concerning medical practitioners and opinions about them. The vast majority of online respondents signed up for visits and tests online. They also used the Internet to buy over-the-counter drugs, medical equipment, or to collect results of medical examinations. The development of the coronavirus pandemic will undoubtedly contribute to the increased interest of the elderly in such activities. We also need to mention e-healthcare, the development of which is important both from thepoint of view of patients and health services, as well as new services such as e-prescription, electronic medical sick leave certificate, e-referral and e-order. Taking into consideration the increasing competences of people working in the field of modern technologies, it can be assumed that in the near future Internet portals and applications will gain in importance, as they are an increasingly common tool which allows the elderly stay in good shape and maintain good health.
