TY - GEN A1 - Ukleja, Miłosz A2 - Banaszak, Ewa PB - Instytut Socjologii Uniwersytetu Wrocławskiego N2 - The main objective of this article is to present part of my research on the everyday life of same-sex families with regard to the use of strategies to protect the family members from the phenomenon of stigmatisation. In the article, I discuss the fundamental changes associated with the emergence of same-sex parenthood, referring to both Western and Polish research. I focus on the question of how the families create everyday protection strategies against the consequences of the prevailing social norms. The notions that are of utmost significance for the presented material include stigmatisation and stigma. The stigma experienced by same-sex parents affects their use of methods of coping in everyday life. The research presented in the article was carried out by myself with four lesbian families in the years 2017-2018. The research was part of a pilot study for the doctoral dissertation that I am working on.
