Flood protection is the basic task of the Polish Waters (WodyPolskie) as well as central and local government administration bodies. The main assumption of the Water Law Act 2017 is to achieve real and effective impact on water management issues in Poland. This applies in particular to planning in water management, protection of water resources and implementation of a system of Water Law approvals. It is the water authority that should primarily decide on the scope of investment in waters, maintenance of water facilities, and ensuring the achievement of good water status and minimizing flood risk at all levels of catchment water management. The phenomenon of flooding is still current because it is becoming more frequent. The adopted legal solutions are aimed at preventing floods and minimizing their effects. Positive reports of the Supreme Chamber of Control in recent years indicate an improvement in the flood risk management situation in Poland.}, title={Zarządzanie ryzykiem powodziowym jako zadanie administracji publicznej – wybrane zagadnienia}, keywords={management, flood risk, flood protection, tasks of water management organs, public administration}, }
