 abstract={The report presents results of a year-long research project on the attitudes towards culture mediated in and by urban public space, on the ways of participating in urban culture and also on peoples' attitude towards the European Capital of Culture Wrocław 2016. Focused group interviews used as a method in this qualitative study allowed to gain a deeper insight into the researched matter and to reveal diversity and complexity of the phenomena under study. The results show that the way people experienced the European Capital of Culture is closely related to their well-established behaviors in the sphere of participation in culture. Their habits are the result of culture is understood and what role is ascribed to it in peoples' everyday lives.},
