 abstract={The article presents the results of research carried out among undergraduates, BA teacher-training course. The author inquired about students’ basic knowledge of Islam. Respondents were also requested to provide their opinion on Europeans’ attitude towards Muslims. The respondents also assessed their openness level, i.e. willingness to establish relations with followers of Allah. This included the perspective of a Pole/a Christian (almost all respondents declared Christian denomination) as well as the perspective of a future teacher. Teachers are regarded a special group of professionals; teachers ought to demonstrate multicultural competences. They are also obliged develop this competence in a school class/group. Teachers will certainly be confronted with students/pupils/colleagues and pupils’ parents who are representatives of a foreign culture and religion, including Islam. In the current socio-political situation, when Europe faces a massive influx of legal and illegal immigrants, the latter becomes a major concern. Do respondents share such fears? Are the respondents ready to accept the “dangerous” others? Are they open to compromise in the face of global, multicultural ubiquity? The author presents answers to these questions; the answers are based upon the test results analysis in the context of theoretical considerations. The article concludes with postulates with regards to multicultural education.},
