 abstract={A human corpse is considered an object under Polish law. However, there are substantial and far-reaching restrictions on its handling and disposal. The law also requires a particular treatment of human corpses, by instituting the concept of desecration as a crime. Another important issue is the matter of transplants of bodily tissue and organs of a deceased person.
