 abstract={The COVID-19 pandemic had an undeniable impact on the financial situation of Polish local governments. The aim of the study was to present the actions of the authorities depicting the real impact of the pandemic on the material situation of local government units and to analyse figures outlining the scale of the problems in this matter. The analysis has been supplemented with a presentation of new tasks assigned to units in connection with the crisis and instruments of assistance provided by central authorities. The study was accompanied by an answer to the questions of how the fight against the pandemic influenced the activities of local governments and what effect it had on their material status.},
