The faces of violence take on different types – one could mention mental, economic, sexual, and physical violence here. Sometimes it just cannot be seen; it is hidden deep in one's home routine. The phenomenon above is belittled and treated as a minor threat; however, each type of violence is conditioned by certain factors and leaves its mark on the victims. An essential issue in the discussed subject is learning how to perceive domestic violence from the perpetrators' perspective. The work presents the image of violence from the perspective of people convicted of domestic abuse. The basis for analyzing the content of interviews with people serving sentences in prison is the method of semantic field analysis. At the same time, the starting point in this dissertation is the theory of symbolic interactionism and the sociology of emotions.}, keywords={domestic violence, perpetrators of violence, family, symbolic interactionism, sociology of emotions}, }
