Beck}, language={pol}, abstract={The electronic provision of services regarding the entrepreneur-consumer relationship is characterized by the lack of parties’ simultaneous presence that affects mutual trust. By introducing various information obligations, the legislator tries to compensate this lack of trust and protect the consumer. Therefore, the consumer is consequently overwhelmed with a huge amount of information, which is usually also incomprehensible and unclear. On the other hand, failure to provide the consumer with information has many negative consequences for the entrepreneur. The phenomenon of inadequate fulfilment of information obligations has become so common that it is now known as “information overkill”. Thus, entrepreneurs are trying to meet legal requirements and are looking for various ways for consumers to better understand their statements. In the first part of the article the author analyses legal provisions in terms of information obligations of entrepreneurs providing services electronically, and then she presents the consequences of inadequate informing of the consumer.
