The previous and basic regulation on the subject of Internet platforms has been the e-Commerce Directive and, in the Polish legal system, additionally the Act on the Provision of Electronic Services. In recent months, it has been all too common to remove or block not only the content published on social networks, but also the accounts of users of these portals. In the opinion of some circles, such arbitrary actions and decisions of social media platforms pose a threat to freedom of speech guaranteed by the Polish Constitution and the European Convention on Human Rights. At the EU level, work is underway on a regulation on defining the principles of transparency of decisions regarding content moderation (Digital Service Act). However, after the announcement of the Digital Service Act regulation draft, the Ministry of Justice submitted a draft law on the protection of freedom of expression in social network websites aimed at combating unlawful content on social media platforms. This article aims to present and discuss the most important regulations of this act along with the risks and uncertainties associated with the possible adoption of this act.}, title={Projekt ustawy o wolności słowa w internetowych serwisach społecznościowych – remedium na walkę z bezprawnymi treściami?}, type={text}, doi={10.34616/146249}, keywords={freedom of speech, Digital Service Act, social media platforms, illegal content, trusted flaggers}, }
