Negative climate change for the future of existence on the Earth has exceeded the acceptable extremes, and its effects cannot be predicted by contemporary science. The rate of global warming increase has given rise to change geopolitics towards join climate protection and economic growth targets, which will be realized by the adoption of appropriate legal changes. The process of changes in the direction of the world’s economy sustainable development, referred to as the climate-energy transition, involves all sectors of the economy. However, at first the green transition focused on achieve climate neutrality must take place in the energy sector, which is extremely responsible for the production of greenhouse gas emissions. The current operating model of the energy system, based on high-emission fuels, is incapable of accepting the primacy of climate protection values and afford to implementation of dominant renewable energy sources power and decarbonized gases. Therefore, the centralized energy supply chain will need to be transformed into a multi-directional model referred to as an integrated energy system. The condition for the successful climate-energy transition will be the pursuit to broad integration between new energy carriers. This integration will include cooperation in multiple sources of green energy production and cross-border cooperation in this field. The purpose of this article is to explain the importance of legally guaranteeing the primacy of climate protection as a determinant of changes in the energy system and how an integrated energy system will operate.}, title={Ochrona klimatu determinantem integracji systemu energetycznego}, type={text}, doi={10.34616/145038}, keywords={climate protection, climate neutrality, energy transition, sector coupling, renewable energy sources}, }
